Million Dollar Heater

Nooo not me....lol i go on a $10 heater id be thrilled.

Its the name of the new tourny at the Beau that takes the place of the WPT event they lost....that would be opposed to the Southern championship series in New Orleans which takes the place of the WSOP-C event that they lost...lol

I was planning on playing the N.O. event but looking at the structures, etc and my bankroll i think im going to wait on Biloxi. Ive never liked N.O., no parking for my truck and just a drab place to play. With my depressing personality its to easy to go on tilt in dark rooms...i need the bright lights to keep me on top of things. Plus the Biloxi event will be a re-entry which guarantees a big payout.
Ofcourse keeping my bankroll until January is a huge risk....i havent done well my last 2 trips to the cash games and i spend out of it almost daily. May have to try again to look for backers but i really dont know anybody but people i do work for and i dont think its wise to risk losing customers because of poker tourny backing. If i won it would be no big deal but they wouldnt understand poker tournys and losing their investment could bring friction i dont need.

Well 1 week to go and so far it looks good for me to make it for the 1st re-entry event on the 6th. Been on a very good run at the local casino cash games, avging $33 an hour over the last 10 days or so. Ofcourse anything could happen and usually does but 1 week away im rolled and ready. Hopefully i get my drivers license Tuesday and my Xanax prescription filled Wednesday then im good to go. Im as hot right now at poker as ive ever been in my life.....hopefully it carries thru for another 10 days and i can win some real money for a change. From the looks of it this may very well be the most attended live mtt ever thats not a WSOP or WPT event...

I know the feeling of a bad money losing run....I've had pocket aces cracked the last 4 times I've received them and my last 2 sessions saw me lose with a king high flush (opponent had the ace of course) and my pocket queens get sucked out on with a river A..................naturally all of these hands had all the money in by the time the river hit.

Best of luck to you.....i think things will turn around for you and I'm banking on the fact they will for me too in 2012.

No i didnt even play. I got sick and stayed under the weather all winter. I didnt play again until this spring. So far this year ive played a grand total of 3 events and havent come close to cashing in any of them. 2 of them, the spring break event at the Beau Rivage and the 7 Clans tourny at Coushatta i didnt even make it to the 1st break. At the Beau i decided to change strategy altogether and tried playing it like a cash game. Instead of sitting and waiting for big hands early i got involved in as many pots as possible early with the weaker players......and lost them all. It wasnt my style and i was 1 of the 1st players eliminated. It was a totally wasted trip to Coushatta as they had 20 min levels and 8000 starting chips making it pretty much like a turbo online tourny. Plus we had a dealer who refused to properly shuffle the cards (Coushatta is an Indian casino and they do whatever they want) and it was just a disaster from the start. Luckily i busted out instead of throwing a fit as id usually do ....lol
Next month is the WSOP-c event in New Orleans and hopefully i can get back on track then. If not im prolly about done for awhile as im nearly broke and stay sick all the time. Most of your winning tourny players won or made a big score very early and are able to sustain themselves from those profits while chasing the next score. I on the other hand just havent had any success to speak of so far, have no friends or backers and play strictly out of my own pocket. I drive 6 hours to Tunica, play 12 hours and have to drive back home cus i cant afford a hotel room. Its not a winning formula and very hard to overcome my liabilities. So im gonna try hard a few more times in the next year or so then call it a wrap and take up badminton or something. There is a lot more to playing poker than just sitting at the table and making the right decisions. You need a support network behind you in these tournys and its something for whatever reason , me being an A-Hole chief among them, i havent ever been able to put together. Id like to say it was fun and i gave it a good effort but actually its been a huge strain mentally and physically and im just too weak a person to overcome my handicaps.

Well its hard to believe another year has come and gone. The Million dollar heater starts again in 2 days. Im sitting here on Jan 1 and im not sick for once in my life when a big tourny starts. This 1 is predicted to be the biggest ever with over 1500 players expected for event #1.
I have less than $700 in the bank but im not missing a beat. Im getting a room at the beau for Thursday night so i can get up early and go register at 9am then go back and get a lil more sleep before the noon Friday start. By the time the tourny starts after food, gas, etc ill prolly have less than 50 bucks to my name. But i dont care im going hell or high water....Im on a mission from GOD...lol Despite the fact i havent played a live tourny in months i really think im as high as i can get going into this 1. Ive been on fire online....just wish i could withdraw some money !!! Now my A game might be most peoples C game, i dont know but im going to find out.
Playing well and getting a badbeat is something i can take, you have to get lucky to go deep in these things im fully aware of that.....But playing badly and just blowing it would be about all i need right now to take a nice long swim in the Gulf afterwards.....and O by the way....i cant swim a lick!!!/

I went into the hospital the day before the tourny started so i missed it AGAIN! I actually could have played this past weekend but now im BUSTO so no live poker for me for awhile. Big tourny in Tunica started yesterday but it would take a miracle for me to get funded.
To make it even worse 3 guys from the local casino who i play against all the time made the final 20 in the Main event, 1 busted out in 10th. Makes me sick....jealousy obviously hurts...lol
